Sex and the City

It was a TV series from 1998 to 2004. I wasn't able to watch it, 'cause I'm a teenage girl at that time and not yet ready to hear and watch some matured scenes, hehe.. When boredom strikes, we exchange hard drives/USB and copy movies for our laptops. Sex and the City Movies 1 and 2 are my most favorite. Sounds crazy, but I really watched it several times. I admire their friendship, their fashion and their characters. How I wish I'm like them, but it's only part of a day dream, hehe..

Plot Summary for

A sensuous and ironic sitcom about four young, desirable, virtually inseparable New York bachelorettes who lead and confide in each-other their ever changing and confusing sex lives, as different as their natures. Carrie Bradshaw is a charming petite columnist, and often the narrator of the story, either writing her copy or off screen, constantly tossing up and rejecting different views on just about anything that does or might impact modern women's sex lives; she tries almost everything, is constantly disappointed, but always seems to return to a certain Mr. Big. Miranda Hobbes is a red-hair lawyer determined to score professionally and to be tough in love to, yet her only faithful lover is an insecure nerd. Charlotte York is a gallery-managing wasp from a prestigious, super-rich family, with high old-fashioned moral standards for her lovable but insecure self but unfortunately almost impossible to live up to for any lover, whenever she can find a socially acceptable one. Samantha Jones is every feminist's hero, and the utterly unashamed voice of lust at their meetings: an acclaimed PR agent and unstoppable nymphomaniac man-eater who can flirt the pants off almost any man (often literally and fast) and always feels like more, without a hint of commitment, claiming this is the age for woman to do what men always did to them.

Since then, I became so interested witnessing its movie scenes. It's like, seeing and walking through it, is the continuation of a day dream. Feeling posh and rich lang, pero cannot be... Ako'y simpleng mamamayan lamang, haha..

God's Favor

Proclaiming that 2013 is a God's favorable year for my family (from Ptr. Joey's preaching on the 1st Sunday of the year at MM) has its own provision. I encountered plenty of trials on my 3rd year here at KSA but hey, I will not be shaken. No matter what happens, I will pursue my goals independently. ".. if God is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31

"May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our
hands for us -- yes, establish the work of our hands." Psalm 90:17

After having my US Visit Visa, I started dreaming everyday on how does it feel to be in U.S.A. particularly in New York City. I love watching movies and majority of it had scenes in NYC. I became more inspired listening on Alicia Keys' Empire State of Mind and watching a hundred times, my favorite movie Sex and the City. Who doesn't want to go to U.S.A.? If you're given a chance, who doesn't want to go to the Most Popular City in the world, NEW YORK CITY?!

A start of God's favor, having my family's petition after 22 or 25 years from my Auntie's application is truly an American Dream. My Dad gave up his work here in KSA. Started from a very low position and instantly had his great job related to his career. Not boasting on my family, but boasting on what God can do, my Dad is a Filipino Manhattan Boy of NYC. Mommy, our financer stays at home and always believe that God will provide in times of shortcomings and yes, His answer is always right on time. Living in New York City is not a wealth. It includes hard work for you to survive. Everything is expensive so everyone is aiming a good job, enough to pay bills and taxes. A none hard work is a jaw dropping, in short "nga-nga." My sister, whom I'm so proud of is a certified New Yorker, particularly a Manhattan Girl. Majority of people doesn't bring cars in Manhattan due to lack of parking and very expensive comfy parking lots. Ending up on a parallel parking is a mess. They prefer to walk and stand on the Subway. My sister has the guts to conquer a drive in a busy Manhattan. Oh so proud Ate! Being with them is like, God is Awesome! A reunion plus a dream come true vacation.. what a FAVOR from the LORD!

I was given a chance to spend my whole vacation with them. I thank my Beloved for being so supportive in my decision, although we'll not see each other for a long time. Thanks for the love and trust!

It feels so good to be a visitor. A welcome party, breakfast, lunch, dinner, travel, shopping treats and gifts from my relatives and family's housemates. I'm so overwhelmed! A reunion and a dream come true vacation is more than enough. He made me experience His wondrous favor even more. I thank you so much for their lives Oh Lord! God will surely bless your kind and thoughtful hearts.

[Verse One:]

It's my season for the favor of the Lord

Soul is thirsty for an outpour

Everything he has for me I receive

It's my season it's my time for the favor of the Lord

[Vamp:]

Pressed down shaken it together

Running over in the favor of God

Pressed down shaken together

Running over running over

F.R.I.E.N.D.S.H.I.P

What is a Friend? A person that you are fond of, with whom you talk or spend time with. Someone who is on your side. A person who gives assistance; supporter.

What is a True Friend? Someone who sticks by you when you are down and celebrates with you when you are up. It's someone you trust. It is someone who understands you, knows the real you and appreciates the person you are.

What is a Friendship? A relationship between friends. A relationship between two people who care about each other with a character that provides an immense amount of support and comfort in good times and in bad.

All of us have friends from infancy, childhood, school-age, adolescence, young adult, middle adult and late adult. They come and go, some chose to leave, some chose to stay, some just forget to stay in touch but knows how to catch up things. It's just a matter of HOW YOU VALUE AND TREASURE A FRIENDSHIP, in spite of distance.

F - un. Whatever you talk about anything under the sun, non sense or deep conversations, it's fun! You are comfortable in sharing your own thoughts, aspirations and heartaches to him/her, anytime. No dull moments even in silence.

R - espectful. Knows the real meaning of respect. Whatever your friend's decision is, you know how to respect it, especially if he/she is on his/her right age. A friend understands and knows how to humble down when things are becoming tough. You know how to remind him/her if situations are becoming worst in a nice and respectful way. Not just on your own way to boost your own feelings for your own comfort.

I - nfluential. Is there a friend who pushes you to do negative things? A good influence towards a friend will add up a positive character on him/her in making his/her own decisions in life towards success. Influencing a "Good Vibes" on a friendship will surely last.

E - ncourager. Knows how to cheer you up. Sensitive on what type of comfort you need. Pushes you more in times of giving up, not pulling you down to lessen self worth.

N - o matter what. A starting phrase of a real friend. No matter how different you are, you know how to accept each other. No matter what they will say, i will stick on your side because you are my friend. No matter what happens, I will be here. A No Matter What friend is a True Friend. A No I Don't Care friend is a Fake Friend.

D - early loved. Knows how to love and value friendship. It's like going on a place and remembering a friend who is dearly loved. Someone you'll think about if you're not with them. Someone you treat like a sister/brother or sibling. Someone who is remembered and treasured.

S - ensitive. Knows when you are sad or in need of comfort. Knows when to be silent and when to speak. Knows how to pick a right word to tell that will not hurt your feelings especially when you are down. It's like, you are not talking yet, but he/she already knows how you feel. Being initiative on one's need. Sensitive in a sense of taking care of other's feelings not causing someone to be sensitive in a sense of  hurt and pain.

H - appy for one's success. Joining you in celebrating your success, not being envious. Success is more meaningful if shared. Showing support to a friend makes his/her goals more achievable.

I - will be there for you. Another favorite phrase of friendship. In times of need, in times of someone to talk to, in times of shoulder to cry on, I will be there. It's not "I" don't care about you, "I" don't care how you feel. "I" don't like you. Friendship is more on others, not always about you.

P - ersistent. Refusing to give up. Continuously saves your friendship. Consistent in showing his/her true attitude towards you and towards the others. It's normal not to communicate daily with your friends, for we all have our own priorities in life. What matters most is, you know from your heart that you persistently remember and value your friends.

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants,
for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends,
for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you."
John 15:12-15
